Hon. Alan Stephen Gold

Hon. Alan Stephen Gold was an Article III federal judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He joined the court in 1997 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton. After 13 years on the bench, Gold assumed senior status on January 10, 2011. He fully retired from the court on October 17, 2014. A native of New York State, Gold graduated from the University of Florida with his bachelor's degree in 1966 and from the Duke University School of Law with his J.D. in 1969. Gold later graduated from University of Miami Law School with a Master in Laws degree in 1974. Judge Gold has participated on multiple panels related to “Mindfulness and Neuroscience: Enhancing Lawyer Effectiveness and Stress-Reduction from the Inside Out” since 2009.
